RUN RUN RUDOLPH

It seems Rudolph is in a bit of trouble this Christmas season. Word has it, according to the Reindeer Enquirer, that the other 8 reindeer are jealous of the red-nosed wonder. They fear he gets all the attention (and all the female reindeer) because of one body part that just happens to glow. The situation has driven Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen and Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen to take extreme measures. They have complained incessantly to the reindeer media and have demanded that reindeer congressional hearings be held to besmirch his heroic efforts. According to my sources, they've hired the reindeer underworld (think Tony Soprano with horns)to burn out his bright light and stop him from stealing their thunder. Plans are in place to poison his supply of feed just prior to his famous Christmas Eve traditional trip. They have experience at this, with one of the key reindeer involved in a bizarre drowning experience at Reindeer Cod many, many Christmasses ago. The 8 lazier, less ingenious reindeer plan to blame Santa for the seasonal sabotage. With the reindeer reporters and professors on their side, they will repeat their mantra, "Santa lied so Rudolph could fly" in hopes that it will invade the minds of those who already have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. But we all know better. Santa is much too smart to let them succeed. And Rudolph's talents and his nose for hard work place him in the Right. And while he may have to endure the constant pettiness and bickering of the 8 reindeer who follow his leadership, eventually he and Santa will prevail and perform another Christmas miracle.

PURPLE FINGER

I took a purple felt pin and colored my index finger today in honor of the voting in Iraq. Those who voted are courageous and those who made it possible (the US Military, coalition forces and George W. Bush) are true heroes. Today is a very exciting day.

Of course, after the election is over the media and the Democrats will go back to claiming this is an unjust, lousy war that we are losing. And without an upcoming election to prove them wrong, their arguments may build steam again. At times the American people are forgetful and lazy. But we should know better. This is a great day in Iraq and there are more great days ahead thanks to what has already been accomplished.

BLESS MY WIFE

The Mrs. is 18 weeks pregnant with our son. And bless her heart she is experiencing those pregnancy-induced food cravings. All I can say is buy stock in Sunkist. Actually I seem to be craving it, too. What's up with that? So far it is just orange soda that has tempted her tastebuds. No odd combos of pickles and cottage cheese yet. But we have five months to go. We'll see. What's the weirdest pregnancy-induced food craving you've ever experienced or heard of?

CLASS ACT

I always knew the President and First Lady were classy. Articles like this prove it.

HI, WELCOME TO WALMART

I enjoyed this article from Michael Barone. Barone is a smart guy and I always enjoy his analysis on the Fox News Channel. I love Walmart. If they completely abandon "Merry Christmas" for the sake of the generic "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" that will annoy me. But they employ a ton of Americans. They offer my family low prices. They're non-union. They give loads to worthwhile charities. In a nut shell, Wal-mart is a true American success story, and they get too little respect.

BOOST FOR BUSH?

Gas prices are consistently falling! WooHoo! Retail sales for Christmas seem to be strong, especially on the Internet. Yeah! Will President Bush get any boost from these signs of a strong economy? Not if the MSM can help it. I am so sick of those guys. Thank God for Fox News, Hugh and the blogosphere.
